Tie Breaking Introduction:

If two players have the same hand in ranking, tie is always the last option. There are always tie breaking rules in case two players will have the same hands.

Tie Breaking Rules:
  • Royal Flush – Always a tie
  • Straight Flush – Check the highest card in each hand. The player with the higher card wins.
  • Four of a Kind – The higher ranking card wins.
  • Full House – Check the rank of the three cards. The higher card wins.
  • Flush – the player who has the higher card wins. If both players have the same ranking on their highest card, players should look into their second card. If still tie, it goes to the third card and so on.
  • Straight – the player with the highest card wins.
  • Three of a kind – check the ranking of the three cards. The player with the higher card wins.
  • Two pair – the player with the higher pair wins. If they have the same high pair then the second pair will be looked at. If still, they have the same pair, the last card (called the kicker) will be the bases on who wins the tie breaker.
  • One pair – the player with the higher pair wins. If players have the same pair, the highest card will determine the winner. That continues to the fourth and fifth card to determine the winner.
  • For Free hand (cards with no combination) – the player that has the higher card wins. It also continues from the 2nd to the 5th card if both players have the same high cards.
